About

Mexican Taco Dinner

Our Mission

Is to equip churches and individuals to share the love of Christ over a meal in their communities.

Our
Beginnings

Niagara Dinner Church began three years ago in a small, well-equipped garage apartment in St. Catharines. Leah DeVos, a former overseas missionary, was inspired to use her gift of hospitality to bless others and share the love of Christ. She started by inviting international students into her home on Friday evenings for meals, games, and devotional discussions. These gatherings attracted 6-16 students from various cultural and religious backgrounds, creating a space for meaningful community and spiritual conversations.

Our
Vision

Today, Dinner Church is spreading across the Niagara Region, with 8 established Dinner Churches serving diverse communities such as international students, seniors, and unhoused persons. We are committed to continuing this work through training and equipping individuals and churches to start new Dinner Church ministries in Niagara and beyond. Our mission is to share the love of Christ over meals in simple, meaningful ways that foster community and spiritual growth.

Ultimately, our vision is to see every Church in Niagara have a Dinner Church of its own.

Our
Impact

The Dinner Church model has successfully provided not just physical nourishment, but also a sense of belonging and spiritual care to guests from all walks of life. It is a ministry grounded in hospitality and rooted in the unique DNA of the local church, creating spaces where people feel welcomed and spiritually enriched.

"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. "

-Hebrews 13:2
